  25. Does the Wet-Stop2 contain latex?
  26. What is the warranty on the Wet-Stop2 alarms?

1. How do I test my Wet-Stop2 to confirm that it is working?
If the packing strips are still in the battery compartment, pull them out to activate the alarm.  The alarm should chirp at this point.  Next, make sure the volume switch is in the OFF (“0”) position, then move the volume switch to the highest level (****).  Depress the white sensor pushbutton and insert a wet cloth fully into the mouth of the sensor, making sure that the cloth is touching the metal probes inside of the sensor.  The alarm should sound when you clip the sensor onto the wet cloth, indicating that the alarm is working properly.
2. What type of underwear should my child wear?
Thick, absorbent, cotton underwear is best to use with these alarms.  Also, the underwear should be close fitting (no boxer shorts) so that the sensor is held close to the body to more quickly detect moisture.

3. Where should I clip the sensor of the Wet-Stop2 alarm?

The sensor should be clipped to the outside of the underwear about where you think the first drops of moisture will appear.  This will vary slightly depending upon whether your child sleeps on his/her stomach or back.  In general, clip the sensor to the front, outside of the underwear (Y-fold area of a boys brief) for boys, and down lower towards the crotch area for girls.
4. Can I use the Wet-Stop2 alarm with GoodNites or pull-up products?
No, you shouldn’t use your alarm with disposable pants. First, the highly absorbent materials can easily “wick away” moisture when your child wets and prevent the alarm from sounding appropriately. The result is a missed learning opportunity and the potential for mistakenly thinking that your child was dry. Secondly, it is very difficult to monitor progress, especially as your child reduces the amount he wets. The Wet-Stop2 alarm is designed to be used with cloth underwear.
5. How do I attach the alarm to my childs clothing?
The sensor should be clipped to the outside of your child’s underwear.  To clip it on, simply pinch a piece of the underwear fabric, depress the white pushbutton on the top of the sensor, place the underwear material in-between the sensor jaws, and release the pushbutton.  The alarm box should be placed on the shoulder area of your child’s pajama top.  Use the built-in magnet to secure it to the collar area of your child’s shirt.  Run the cord underneath your child’s pajama top to prevent excessive pulling on the cord or sensor.
6. I tested my alarm and it worked, but it did not sound when my child wet his bed.  What should I do?
First, make sure that you are fully attaching the sensor to your child’s underwear.  The sensor should be clipped onto the front, outside of close fitting underwear, with the probes on the inside coming into contact with the underwear cloth.  If the sensor is not placed correctly and the probes do not make full contact with the material, it may delay the sensor’s detection of moisture.  Also, make sure to switch the volume from the OFF position to the LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH setting.
7. How do I improve the chances that my child will awaken when the alarm sounds?
Place the alarm box high up on the shoulder area of your child’s pajama top so that it is not muffled by blankets and is close to his/her ear.  Also, make sure that a parent/caregiver can hear the alarm so that he/she can assist the child in waking to the alarm.
8. How long will the alarm sound after it has been activated?
The Wet-Stop2 alarm will sound continuously for 1 minute, followed by 1 minute of intermittent sounding in stand-by mode.  After 2 minutes, the alarm sound turns itself off; just the flashing light continues.
9. What battery type should I use to replace my old Wet-Stop2 batteries?
The Wet-Stop2 uses button-type CR-1620 Lithium batteries.  Specifications: 3.0 Volts, 16.0 mm diameter, 2.0 mm height.  Energizer ECR1620 and Duracell 1620 are compatible.
10. How long do the batteries last?
Battery life depends upon how often the alarm sounds and other external factors.  Typical battery life is between 40 and 60 activations.  Drain on the batteries when the alarm is not sounding is minimal.
11. Where can I find replacement batteries?
Replacement CR-1620 lithium batteries for the Wet-Stop2 alarms can generally be found at any super store or tech-oriented store that carries batteries for cameras, calculators or computers.  Replacements can also be purchased directly from the Bedwetting Store if you have trouble finding them elsewhere.
12. How do I replace the batteries in my Wet-Stop2 Alarm?
First, remove the battery cover using a small, flat head screwdriver.  Insert the screwdriver into the slot on the side of the battery compartment and gently push the battery out.  Insert the new batteries, positive side UP, by simply pushing them into the battery compartment slots.  Screw the battery cover back into place.
13. How do I stop the alarm from sounding?
After the alarm is triggered by moisture, turn the sound off by moving the volume switch to the OFF position.  Before switching the alarm back on, make sure to thoroughly dry the sensor by tapping/shaking it and inserting a dry cloth into the sensor to absorb residual moisture.
14. How do I clean my Wet-Stop2 alarm and sensor?
The Wet-Stop2 alarm is designed for minimal maintenance.  After each use, rinse the sensor with water and wipe the alarm box if necessary.  Do not rinse or submerge the alarm box, as this will cause it to malfunction.  If you notice urine residue on the metal prongs in the sensor, clean it with warm, soapy water to remove this build-up.  After cleaning, rinse with water and air dry.  This should be done during the day when the alarm is not in use.
15. I just received my alarm and removed the battery isolation tabs, but I did not hear the alarm sound like the instructions indicated.  Is my alarm defective?
Sometimes, when the isolation tabs are removed, they pull the batteries out of their contact locations.  Open the battery compartment and make sure the batteries are fully inserted in the battery slots as described in the instructions.
16. My alarm is making a fast clicking sound.  What does this mean?
This type of sound generally indicates that the batteries have reached the end of their
life.  Replace the old batteries and test the sound with new ones to make sure that it is now functioning properly.
17. My alarm makes a “machine-gun” sound in the High volume setting, but works fine in the Low volume setting.  What does this mean?
This sound generally indicates that the batteries are weak.  Replace the batteries and test the sound to make sure that it is now functioning properly.
18. After my child wets, I can’t switch the volume back on without the alarm immediately sounding.  Why does this happen?
If the device alarms immediately when switched back on, there may be residual moisture stuck inside the sensor.  To dry your sensor, tap the sensor head against a soft surface or shake the sensor vigorously to dislodge any large drops of moisture.  Then insert a dry cloth into the mouth of the sensor to absorb any remaining moisture.  Repeat these steps until the alarm does not sound when switched on.
19. The first time we used the Wet-Stop2 alarm it worked fine, but it didn’t work when we tried to use it again.  What does this mean?
After each activation the alarm must be manually turned off, even if the sound has already stopped.  To turn the alarm off, move the volume switch to the “0” position.  This deactivates the unit and allows you to reset it for the next use.
20. I just started using my Wet-Stop2 alarm again after storing it for several months, and now it isn’t working.  How can I fix it?
First, put new batteries in the alarm unit.  Second, clean the sensor (see above for cleaning instructions) to remove any urine residue that may be left on the sensor from previous uses.
21. Can the Wet-Stop2 alarm BOX get wet?
No.  The alarm box contains the unit’s batteries and electronics.  Flooding of the alarm box will result in malfunctioning.  To prevent the alarm box from getting wet, make sure your child wears it on the shoulder area of his pajamas rather than down on the waistband.
22. When I move the volume or tone switches to different positions, the alarm makes a chirping sound.  Is this OK?
Yes, the short chirping sound you hear when moving the volume or tone switch indicates that the switch is working correctly.

23. Can I select one of the sounds for the Wet-Stop2 alarm to play?

Yes, select one of the 4 programmed sounds by moving the tone selector switch on the left-hand side of the alarm box.
24. My child does not wake up when his alarm goes off.  Does this mean the alarm won’t work for him?
Many children who wet the bed are such sound sleepers that they cannot respond to an alarm on their own.  This does not mean that they will be unsuccessful with the alarm.  It is important that if your child does not hear the alarm on her own, that you help her wake up when the alarm goes off.
25. Does the Wet-Stop2 contain latex?
The Wet-Stop2 does not contain latex.
26. What is the warranty on the Wet-Stop2 alarms?
The Wet-Stop2 is covered by a one-year manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials and workmanship and against breakage or failure under normal use.  The warranty does not cover misuse or abuse.  Warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer, Potty MD.  For warranty service, contact them toll-free: (877) 768-8963, or telephone: (865) 525-0000.
